7/12 Two unidentified monuments south of chancel of Church of St Margaret



Two chest tombs, C18, ashlar: a) Two metres south of chancel: mid to later C18 with south side bordered oval plaque and cherub-head spandrels. Drapery drop each side. Moulded base and cornice, broken forward over centre. Lyre ends with oval plaques. North side raised fielded plaque to centre and fielded panels each side. b) Ten metres south of chancel: c1700 with framed rectangular plaque each side flanked by heavy Baroque scroll. Pulvinated frieze over panel. Oval small medallions over scrolls. Thickly carved acanthus detail to lyre ends. Moulded base and cornice.
