ST BIDDESTONE CUTTLE LANE 9/35 The Hollies
House, c1840-50, coursed squared rubble with ashlar dressings and hipped slate eaves roof. End wall stacks. 3 storey, 3-window range. Sashes in flush stone surrounds, 9-pane to 2nd floor, 12 – pane to 1st floor centre, 16-pane to sides. Ground floor arched doorway, 6-panel door and fanlight set in Tuscan columned stone porch. To each side a later C19 3-sided canted stone bay with plate glass sashes. Facade is divided by raised ashlar strips to angles, plinth, first and second floor bands and eaves. Horizontal bands are carried around west side but flush quoins replace angle strips. Attached to rear north east angle a single storey range with slate roof and coped gables with saddlestones. Low ashlar walling with timber windows in band to west side. House is prominently set facing south down Cuttle Lane and listed for group value.
