Includes: Nos.1 AND 3 RAWS STREET. Terraced row of 3 town houses, now public house and offices. c1820-5. By Anthony Buck; altered. Coursed squared sandstone (sides and rear watershot), slate roof. Double-depth plan, all single-fronted and No.58 with a back extension. 3 storeys over cellars, 2+2+2 windows, with a plain plinth and moulded gutter cornice. Each has the doorway to the left, with a moulded architrave and floating cornice; and restored 12-pane sashed windows of diminishing height from floor to floor, all with raised sills and plain surrounds. No.58A to the left now has an inn sign on a wrought-iron bracket at 1st floor. Roof hipped at left end, and now lacking chimneys. The 4-window left return side to Raws Street has a doorway like those at the front, and a lower single-window back extension. The rear has (inter alia) full-height round-headed stair-windows. INTERIORS altered but No.62 has a doglegged stone staircase with delicate curvilinear wrought-iron balusters. Forms group with Nos 64-68 adjoining to the right (qv).
