8/160 Jacksom’s Farmhouse
Farmhouse, late C17, altered in mid C18, rubble stone with stone slate roofs, coped gables and end stacks. Two storeys and attic. Two hipped eaves dormers with leaded lights. Four-window range. To left, two first floor 2-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion windows with hoodmoulds and, to right, pair of C18 small 6-pane sashes in moulded recessed surround with dripstone. Ground floor left 2-light similar mullion window, without hoodmould, and door in flush moulded surround set in C19 ashlar gabled Tudor-style porch. Two similar 2-light windows with hoodmoulds to right. A lower stone tiled addition to south end. C20 roughcast 2-storey addition beyond. North end gable has 2 small oval attic openings, and ground floor pair of small-paned windows in flush moulded surround with cornice. C18 added rear wing, hipped to west has one north side 12-pane sash in raised beaded surround. Pair of similar sashes each floor to roughcast west end and 12-pane sash in raised moulded surround each floor on south side, lower sash with cornice over. Rear of main range has gabled eaves dormer, first floor two 12-pane sashes in raised moulded surrounds and ground floor 2-light mullion window with hood and C20 door under hood of former mullion window. South end addition has west front eaves hipped dormer and triple 6-pane windows under moulded cornice.
