LUCKINGTON BRISTOL ROAD ST 88 SW208 Bottle kiln at The Potteries
Bottle-kiln of former brick, tile and pottery works, c1913, tall red brick bottle-shaped oven with white brick chequer to top lip. Domed fire-brick lined interior with iron-framed south doorway marked ‘T. Willett & Co Ltd, Burslem’ and eight low arched fire- openings around the base. Said to be the last of three formerly present on the site, and never to have been fired. Possibly the only example in Wiltshire.
